Here's a view of the upper oil pan and pickup from below. The baffle plate has been removed so all residual gasket material could be removed from the mating surface and adjacent areas. |

The baffle plate has been completely cleaned and re-installed. Note the difference in color. Having bathed in synthetic oil all of its life, the engine still collected deposits and varnish. |

Look at that beautiful bead of Permatex Ultra Copper gasket maker! I simply squeezed the goo right out of the tube without an applicator. I only had about five minutes to take this photo. |
